Appointments
Getting Great Results
For the best outcome, we recommend scheduling multiple appointments in advance, 1 to 4 weeks apart. Results will vary according to the following factors:
Area(s) to be treated
Skin sensitivity
Your pilosity (amount of hair)
How hydrated your skin is at the time of the appointment.
Missed appointments and prolonged interruptions will likely increase the time needed to achieve your goals.
Appointment Length
Electrolysis is the only 100 percent permanent hair removal recognized by the FDA. As a general rule, you will notice a dramatic reduction in hair within 3 to 8 appointments, depending on your hair type.
To help you estimate the appointment length, please use the following as a guide. If you would like us to treat multiple areas during the same appointment, please book at least a 60 minute appointment (or longer).
Treating a few hairs or just touching-up after several sessions of electrolysis — 15 to 45 minutes
Eyebrows, Upper Lip, or Chin - 45-60 minutes
Underarms - 60 to 90 minutes per side
Bikini Area, 1/2 Leg, Chest or Back - 90 to 180 minutes
Common Skin Blemishes
We can remove most benign skin lesions without any scarring using electrolysis. We simply require you have been evaluated by a dermatologist in the 12 months prior to your appointment and there has been no changes to your skin since you were seen.
Please schedule a 45 to 90 minute appointment if you would like us to treat the following:
Moles
Skin Tags
Warts
Cherry Angiomas
Keratosis
Milia
Cysts
Spider Veins
Sebaceous Hyperplasia
And more!
We can’t say enough about how joyful it makes our clients to have their unsightly skin bumps and lumps removed. While doctors and surgeons use scalpels, electrolysis is more precise, using a tiny probe and current to safely take care of the issue with less pain. The results are often highly transformative, helping our clients look and feel their best! Not sure this is right for you? FAQs
Worried about pain?
Electrolysis has come a long way since 1875, and today’s technology enables us to work with more speed and precision than ever before. We use the best epilator available in the market (the Apilus xCell) - which has timings that are mere thousandths of a second. Most of our clients will tell you electrolysis it isn’t any more painful than tweezing your hair and we can offer both OTC numbing creams as well as lidocaine injections (administered professionally by a physician assistant next door). We will work to design a plan just for you, ensuring your sessions are both effective and comfortable.
Thinking about laser hair removal too?
Electrolysis uses radio frequency and direct current to permanently destroy germinative cells responsible for hair growth; laser hair removal, by contrast, employs pulsating light beams aimed at the hair to heat melanin (the natural pigments) in it. When melanin is heated, it tends to burn, causing the hair follicle to temporarily stop producing hair. Laser isn’t generally effective for people with dark skin tones or light hair color (e.g. gray, white, blonde, or red). Laser also not considered to a permanent form of hair removal, but this is where electrolysis can really shine; it works on all hair and skin types and is 100 percent permanent! Come see us and we can help you evaluate all your options!
What if I need to change or cancel my appointment?
Although some circumstances are unavoidable, we would appreciate at least 48-hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment or reschedule with us. It’s easy to change your appointment using the link in your booking confirmation email -OR- feel free to call or text us at 214-893-2471 if it’s truly a last minute change.
We often have a waiting list of clients, and having even a little notice that you won’t make it means we can offer your time to someone who may be waiting.
If you think you have COVID-19 or have tested positive for it, we ask that you stay home for the health and safety of everyone, but don’t worry! We’ll work to find a way to fit you back into the schedule when you’re ready. Just let us know as soon as you can that you won’t be able to make it! Will it take more than one session?
While electrolysis is permanent, your success depends on your unique hair cycles. Hair what? Yes, hair cycles. The hair growing on your body doesn’t all grow at one time. Some of it’s asleep, while some of it is growing (thank goodness, because if all the hair grew at the same time, humans would look more like primates).
You’ll have new hair cycles come in at least a few months while you’re undergoing electrolysis — kind of likes waves in the ocean. With each hair cycle, you’ll see new hair growing that we’ve never treated before. Don’t worry if this seems complicated…just book a free new client consultation with us and we’ll walk you through it!
Bottom line? We’ll need to treat every hair in the area in to see 100 percent permanent hair removal. Typically, once we clear an area of hair, with the next hair cycle, you’ll see about 30-50 percent less hair…and each time you come, you’ll see about half of what was there before until it’s gone — as in gone FOREVER.
Like all good things, electrolysis is worth the wait. It’s actually the ONLY 100% permanent method of hair removal recognized by the FDA (something laser can’t say), so what are you waiting for? The sooner you get started, the sooner you can kiss those unwanted hairs goodbye permanently! Book now!
